Armed robber flees Markham convenience store with cash

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking assistance to identify a suspect following a robbery at a convenience store in the City of Markham. On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at 11:42 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a convenience store located on Middlefield Road, north of Steeles Avenue, for a report of a robbery.

A male suspect entered the store armed with a handgun. The suspect made a demand for cash and the employee complied. The suspect then fled the store on foot. The victim was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male, Black
  • 23 to 28 years
  • 6’3”
  • Heavy build
  • Wearing black clothing and a black mask covering his face
