Additional charge laid in police corrupt practices investigation

York Regional Police, in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police, have arrested one of their officers in the ongoing investigation into corrupt practices which began in January 2018.

The investigation has revealed that an Ontario Provincial Police officer that is assigned to the Oxford County Detachment in Tillsonburg was using police databases to conduct unlawful queries. On Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, Constable Nancy St-Gelais was arrested and has been charged.

Charged:
    •    Nancy St-Gelais, 44, Town of Ingersoll

Charges:
    •    unauthorized use of computer

Constable St-Gelais has been released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 23, 2018.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
