The Ontario Provincial Police reports 69 impaired driving/dangerous driving charges and 93 street racing charges were laid in the GTA in the last two weeks.
According to Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of the Highway Safety Division, York Region and area charges laid July 15 to 29 are:
- Justin Everitt, 37, Newmarket - impaired driving, 80 plus, race motor vehicle – stunt;
- Douglas Adair, 66, Aurora - impaired driving, 80 plus;
- Joe Valookaran, 23, Markham - impaired driving, 80 plus, dangerous operation, drive with liquor readily available, open container of liquor;
- Matthew Byer, 29, Whitchurch-Stouffville - failure to comply with demand, liquor in open container;
- Srimathan Rajthiageswaran, 39, Bradford-West-Gwillimbury - impaired driving, 80 plus.
