4 people found dead at Markham house this afternoon

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have a 20-year-old man in custody and are seeking witnesses following the suspicious death of four people at a residence in the City of Markham. 

On Sunday, July 28, 2019, shortly before 3 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence on Castlemore Avenue, just east of Mingay Avenue for a report that multiple people had possibly been injured. When officers arrived they made contact with a man at the front door who was taken into custody. A further search of the residence found four people, all of whom were deceased. 

The Coroner has been called to the scene. The deceased have not yet been identified. 

The 20-year-old man remains in custody. 

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area to please come forward.
