Investigators with the York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged three people and are looking for a woman wanted on a warrant following a kidnapping in the City of Markham.
On April 14, 2022, officers received information from police in the City of Montreal regarding a possible female victim of a kidnapping. Officers learned that the victim had been gambling with a female suspect who suggested that the victim could borrow money from a company she knew of that provided large loans. The victim borrowed a significant amount of money but lost all of it while gambling. The suspects held the victim against her will while demanding payment.
On April 15, 2022, officers located the victim at a hotel in Markham where she was being held by the suspects. She was not physically injured. Three of the suspects were taken into custody but a fourth female suspect remains outstanding. A warrant was issued for her arrest and investigators are asking anyone with information on her location or any information on the investigation to come forward.

- Zeping Gao, 26, of Markham
- Zhipu Dong, 23, of Toronto
CHARGE:
- Kidnapping
