21-year-old Vaughan man dies in Highway 7 single-vehicle collision

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal motor vehicle collision in the City of Vaughan.

On Saturday, March 26, 2022 at approximately 8:30 p.m., York Regional Police were called to the intersection of Pine Valley Drive and Highway 7 West for reports of a single vehicle collision. A 2007 green Toyota Prius was travelling eastbound on Highway 7 West when the driver attempted to pass other vehicles and struck the centre median concrete barrier.

The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man from Vaughan, was taken to hospital and sadly pronounced deceased shortly after.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police or anyone who may have dashcam footage or residential video surveillance of the collision, to please come forward.
