2 women wanted in connection with Newmarket boat motor theft

Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's assistance in identifying two women wanted in connection with the theft of a boat motor in the parking lot of the Newmarket Canadian Tire Saturday, June 20.

A person had parked a vehicle, with a trailer and boat, next to a silver Dodge Ram 1500 at the retail outlet at 17750 Yonge St. at about 9:20 a.m., according to a Crime Stoppers York Region release.

When the victim entered the store, two women exited the Dodge Ram truck and followed.

Two men then got out of the Ram and severed the boat motor’s security straps and gas line, Crime Stoppers said. 

The victim reported the theft of a boat motor and a fishing rod. 

Crime Stoppers has issued photographs of the two women suspects, who are both described as white and aged from 30 to 35. 

One woman had long hair, dyed red, and was was wearing sunglasses, a black tank top, ripped jeans and white flip flops. 

The second woman, who has a tattoo under her collar bone, was wearing a grey baseball cap, grey tank top, black shorts, pink bikini top, black necklace, bracelets on both wrists and beige flip flops. 

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver, four-door Dodge Ram 1500, 2019 or 2020 model.
