2 Whitchurch-Stouffville men dead following single-vehicle crash

Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen the vehicle collide with a tree on Warden yesterday

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses after a fatal collision in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.

On Thursday, August 15, 2019, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Warden Avenue, just south of Stouffville Road. Investigators found a Hyundai Genesis had collided with a tree and sustained heavy damage. The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old man from Whitchurch-Stouffville, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The passenger, a 23-year-old man from Whitchurch-Stouffville, was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or who may have dashcam footage of the incident or the driving behaviour prior to the collision, is asked to come forward.
