2 men shot in altercation in Vaughan parking lot

Three men were taken to hospital following an incident in which shots were fired early today in a parking lot in Vaughan.

York Regional Police responded to a report of shooting in a parking lot at Islington Avenue and Steeles Avenue West April 12 at 12:55 a.m., where officers found three male victims, two with gunshot injuries and one who had been physically assaulted, according to a news release.

All were transported to hospital and treated for injuries that were deemed non-life threatening, police said.

Several suspects are believed to have fled the area in a white BMW sedan with front-end damage. The exact number of suspects is unknown and there is no further description of them or vehicle at this time.

Investigators believe that this was a targeted incident and there is no threat to public safety.

Police are asking any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward. Additionally, anyone with video recordings, such as dash cam or surveillance footage, in the area around the time of the incident is urged to contact investigators as soon as possible.
