Ontario reported 378 new COVID-19 cases and nine deaths from the virus on Saturday, the most since mid-June.
The province says one of the deaths happened more than two months ago and was reported for the first time as part of data cleaning work.
There were 111 patients in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness, including 81 people on ventilators.
The latest data from the province says 61,041 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the last daily update for a total of more than 19.8 million shots.
The latest case numbers are based on 20,858 tests.
The new infections are the highest since June 16, when 384 cases were reported.
The seven-day rolling average now sits at 231 cases, up from 183 a week ago.
Public Health Ontario says that from the end of June to the end of last month, unvaccinated people were eight times more likely to become infected with COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people.
