July 3rd, 1925 - September 14th, 2022

Formerly of Bradford, ON died peacefully at Bradford Valley Care Community. Born in Tarputiske, Lithuania on Friday, July 3rd, in 1925 she was the youngest of a large family. Lydia is predeceased by her beloved husband Adolfas (Vic), and leaves behind her two sons Richard (Kim), and Martin (Mieke) and her cherished grandson Ryan.

Displaced to Germany in 1941 from her Lithuanian homeland, she escaped from Eastern Germany, and immigrated to Canada in 1948. Lydia lived with a friend in Montreal, and then in Toronto, where she met Vic and then married in 1958. Lydia worked various jobs, but her greatest joy and accomplishment was raising her two sons.
Lydia was an avid gardener, and loved to grow fresh fruit and vegetables long into her 80s. Special thanks to the staff and friends at the Bradford Valley LTC, who’s patience and loving care made Lydia’s last years more comfortable.

A visitation will be held at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 10 am - 12 pm, followed by a graveside service at Pine Orchard Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
