Igor passed away peacefully at Southlake Residence in Newmarket on Monday October 22, 2018 at the age of 85.
He was born on March 8, 1933 in Voroshilovgrad, Ukraine and settled in Toronto in 1957. Igor was an accomplished Chartered Accountant and lawyer. He is fondly remembered for his sense of humour and his love of classical music, playing the piano, skiing, tennis, pickles and spending time at the cottage. He was the proud pop of Nick (Sandy), Irina, Tamara Carper and Alla Marks, and he leaves behind three grandchildren. Igor was the beloved brother of Dr. Norah Maier. He is predeceased by his mother Ella, father Nikolai and sister Tamara.
The family will receive friends at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street, Newmarket, on Saturday November 10, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm. Donations in memory of Igor to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
