NMHA accepting applications for rep team coaches

NEWMARKET MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION (NMHA)

COACHING APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED ONLINE FOR THE 2019/2020 SEASON FOR ALL REP TEAMS MINOR ATOM TO MIDGET INCLUSIVE.

If you possess the following we would like to hear from you: 
1. A desire to assist our players in the development of their hockey and life skills. 
2. Knowledge and understanding of the Minor Hockey system in Ontario. 
3. Must be able to provide a current “Police Vulnerable Sector Check” report (if not on the PVSC Approved Members List with NMHA) with the submission of your application. 
4. Current Certification from the OMHA Hockey Coaches certification program.

Application Deadline: 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019

Please note, due to the recent changes from Hockey Canada, we will not be requesting applications for a Tyke MD or Novice team for the 2019-2020 Season at this time. Once we get further clarification from Hockey Canada, we will post a call for the appropriate positions.

While we appreciate the interest of all applicants, only those under consideration will be contacted for an interview. NMHA reserves the right to accept or deny any application received after the deadline date.

Fast facts:

  • NMHA currently has 28 Representative Hockey teams from Novice (athletes born in 2010) to Midget (athletes born in 2001-2002) in AA, A and AE/MD.
  • Last year, we interviewed over 50 applicants for the 28 positions.
  • Teams play in the York Simcoe Minor Hockey League, which includes teams from Aurora, Barrie, Bradford, EG, Georgina, Innisfil, Markham, Newmarket, Noble King, Orillia, Richmond Hill, Schomberg, TNT, Unionville and Stouffville.
