On Tuesday, Jan. 29, the Bradford and District Skating Club welcomed Olympian Shae-Lynn Bourne and Canadian National Team member Michelle Long to the Bradford West Gwillimbury Leisure Centre. The two conducted a seminar for area skaters called Bourne on the Edge.

The workshop focused on creating power, understanding edges, and pushing the basics to the extreme, helping our skaters turn the basics into a fun and creative way to work their creative skills. Michelle shared her passion for the artistic aspect of our sport and answered questions from the skaters.

Shae-Lynn Bourne is a 10-time Canadian ice dance champion and World Champion. She has competed at three Winter Olympic Games and is, today, an internationally renowned coach and choreographer.

Michelle Long is a Newmarket native and member of the Canadian National team.
