YouthSpeak is offering a series of free online workshops to youth, parents and adults in August to provide mental health support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Building a Self-Care Toolkit, offered Aug. 11 and 27 from 4 to 5 p.m., is a fun, interactive workshop for parents and kids that will provide participants 10 tools for managing stress and anxiety, which is especially needed during these unprecedented times, YouthSpeak founder Una Wright said.

"The integration of these strategies is most effective when parents and other caring adults in a child's life learn and use them together," Wright said. "They also help to create a safe space for further conversations related to overall well-being and self-care."

The workbook provides parents with: information on how to use the tools; "conversation starters" that will prompt them to think about what they learned; interactive pages; and a list of resources.
