In their ongoing campaign to support Newmarket's homeless individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic, young sisters Manha and Laiba Yusuf were once again at Inn From the Cold to deliver a donation.

They visited the shelter July 5 to present $1,000 raised during their Father’s Day campaign in June

Manha, 10, and Laiba, 8, sold platters of fruit and nuts in June with the proceeds going to Inn from the Cold.

Program manager Ashley Martin was on hand at the shelter to accept the donation.

She said she was impressed with the sisters’ work and that she, too, had purchased platters from their previous Mother’s Day fundraiser.

The duo plans to keep up the philanthropy this summer with the launch of their back-to-school campaign for the third year in a row.

Throughout July and August, they will be selling peaches, corn, dried fruit platters and nut platters to raise money for backpacks full of school supplies.

Their goal is to create 300 backpacks, which will be distributed to people in need later in the summer.

Recently, Manha was recognized for her hard work by receiving the prestigious Diana Award, which is given to young people around the world who are doing good for their communities.
