The Regional Municipality of York has been named one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2020 by Mediacorp Canada Inc. – the country’s largest publisher of quality employment-related periodicals.

Greater Toronto’s Top Employers, administered through the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, is in its 14th year and has become the benchmark in the Greater Toronto Area for workplace best practices.
Winners each year are evaluated on the same eight criteria as the national competition: physical workplace, work atmosphere and social, health, financial and family benefits, vacation and time off, employee communications, performance management, training and skills development and community involvement.
Several reasons York Region was selected as a top employer include:

- Providing opportunities for employees to grow and develop new skills, including engaging with the next generation of employees and supporting a culture of continuous learning
