York Regional Police will provide details Thursday of two separate probes that resulted in 50 people charged and more than $30 million seized in illegal drugs, firearms, vehicles, and cash.
The investigation known as Project Zen was led by the local force’s organized crime bureau, guns, gangs, and drug enforcement unit, and included a joint-forces investigation known as Project Moon that focused on drug production and trafficking by organized crime groups.
Videos of York police dismantling local drug labs will be available for viewing, along with the drugs, cash, and firearms police seized during the investigation, at a news conference scheduled for 11 a.m. Aug. 8 at the force’s Aurora headquarters.
