If someone was in cardiac arrest, would you know what to do? In support of CPR Month, York Region Paramedic Services is offering hands-only CPR awareness sessions to the public to help build confidence in acting to save a life during a suspected cardiac emergency.
The training sessions will also be an opportunity for the public to participate and learn the impact CPR can make during an emergency.

When: Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Aaniin Community Centre, Main Atrium, 5665 14th Avenue, City of Markham
According to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, approximately 40,000 people suffer a cardiac arrest every year in Canada. While 80 per cent of these occur at home or in a public place, bystanders only perform CPR 15 per cent of the time.
By learning hands-only CPR, the power to save a life is in your hands. During a suspected cardiac arrest, doing hands-only CPR before paramedics arrive can have a significant effect on a person’s chance of survival.
