“Together with our Board of Trustees and Board staff, I am thrilled to welcome our new, and returning students for the 2019-2020 school year,” said YCDSB Director of Education Ab Falconi. “With diverse program offerings that promote lifelong learning and investment in personal well-being, our students are building the faith-based values and critical thinking skills to interpret the world in a meaningful way. I wish everyone great success in the year ahead.”

Active School Travel (AST)

YCDSB encourages healthy habits for getting to school with its eco-friendly Active School Travel (AST) program. YCDSB promotes a mindful approach to AST for all students and their families. The many benefits include:

  • Improved physical and mental health
  • Greater social development and higher academic performance
  • Reduced traffic congestion
  • Reduced air pollution and greenhouse gases
