Parents of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder enrolled in Catholic elementary and secondary schools are invited to attend a series of workshops beginning next week.

The York Catholic District School Board’s student services department is offering the workshops at the Catholic Education Centre, 320 Bloomington Rd. West, in Aurora.

The first workshop, Bringing ABA into your Home, takes place Wednesday, April 3 from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The board's ASD team will lead the workshop that will provide parents with a basic understanding of behaviour and principles of applied behaviour analysis (ABA).

Parents will leave this workshop with information on how to implement ABA strategies in everyday life to develop a wide variety of skills and to manage challenging behaviours.

Parents/guardians should register for this workshop here.
