Woman in critical condition after fire in Bradford

Firefighters and police responded to a fire call on Centre Street

BWG Fire and Emergency Services were called to a fire at an apartment building at 33 Centre St. in Bradford at around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday night.

One woman was rescued from the apartment on the ground floor of the building and transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Other tenants of the building were able to self-evacuate, as firefighters brought the blaze under control.

No firefighters were injured.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.

At this time, there is no word on the amount of damage, or the cause of the blaze.
