Friday, Nov. 29

Frozen Fridays: Town of Newmarket's Frozen Fridays return with outdoor skating, hot chocolate and more from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Riverwalk Commons. Also running Dec. 6, 13 and 20.

Saturday, Nov. 30

Newmarket Citizens Band presents Echoes of the 20th Century: Newmarket Citizens Band performs at the Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford St., at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $25.

Country Afternoon Line - Line Dancing Lessons: Old Flame Brewing Newmarket is hosting country line dancing, featuring Cheatin’ Hearts on stage. Runs from 4p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets $20.

Main Street Music Hall presents Paige Rutledge: Join a night of amazing music with the talented Paige Rutledge! This concert will be held at 140 Main Street South, Newmarket, ON, Canada. Don't miss out on this unforgettable evening filled with great music and good vibes. Grab your friends and secure your spot for a night to remember! Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Sunday, Dec. 1

Voices of Joy Community Choir - Christmas Sing-a-Long: Come and celebrate the holiday season with an annual Christmas concert at the Newmarket Seniors Meeting Place at 2 p.m. Enjoy some new tunes and sing along  to some holiday classics. A free will offering will be collected, Voices of Joy is now a Registered Charity and can provide taxable receipts for donations $20 and up.

Glenn Marais of Spirit First presents a meditation and healing drum circle: An inspirational afternoon of meditation and drumming followed by a social afterwards. Runs from 2-3 p.m. at 140 Main St. S.

Tapestry Chamber Choir Concert for Christmas - Tidings of the Angels: Come and join Tapestry for an afternoon of heavenly Christmas music at St. Paul’s Anglican Church from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The choir presents Camille Saint-Saëns Christmas Oratorio, featuring soloists and choruses designed to delight. Other Christmas treasures are woven into the program, which will be peppered with some audience participation. Tickets are $25 (+ service fee) from www.tapetrychoir.ca, or $30 cash at the door.

Night of Lights, Dec. 7 to Jan. 4: A display of 1.5 million LED lights is coming to Upper Canada Mall. Holiday Night of Lights will offer a walk-thru trail with festive activities, carnival rides and more. The event will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. with bookings available at nightoflights.ca

The Barra MacNeils - An East Coast Christmas, Sunday, Dec. 15: The show is a musical potpourri of traditional MacNeil family favourites gleaned from Christmas ceilidhs, midnight masses and the general festive frolic that accompanies each holiday season. With their captivating vocals, distinctive harmonies and extraordinary musicianship, The Barra MacNeils inject new life and energy into the sights and sounds of Christmas. At NewRoads Performing Arts Centre, Newmarket, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $72.

The Little Purrr-maid, Sunday, Dec. 22: The Very Useful Theatre Company and Panto Players present an interactive pantomime featuring fun for the whole family. Jackie English, former TVO host and actor in The Magic School Bus and Jackie’s School of Dance — has put together a stellar cast for a new pantomine. Jackie returns as the Cheshire Cat in The Little Purrr-maid along with the Pantos Players as your favourite sea creatures for the family friendly shows from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  at Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford St., Newmarket.  Tickets $15 to $20, family packages $60
