TLC Spring SHRED IT: TLC The Life Centre holds a fundraising shredding event for documents and hard drives from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot behind its office at 615 Davis Dr., Newmarket. CompassCon: CompassCon Newmarket at the Newmarket Legion, 707 Srigley St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. features multiple exhibitors selling board games, video games, comic books, toys, funko POPs, sports cards, arts and crafts, as well as many other collectibles. Newmarket Farmers' Market: Every Saturday morning from May through October, Riverwalk Commons in historic downtown Newmarket is transformed into a vibrant market space where our community gathers to support local food. Connect with local farmers, enjoy a delicious treat, discover unique artisans or take in some live music while visiting with family and friends. English Country Dance: Join the dance at Trinity United Church, 461 Park Ave. at Main Street, Newmarket from 2 to 4 p.m. Beginners welcome; all dances taught; you don't need to bring a partner. Admission by donation; your first class is free. Join the group on the first, third and (when there is one) fifth Saturday of the month.

Aurora Street Festival: Aurora Chamber of Commerce hosts the "world's longest street festival" on Yonge Street from Wellington Street in the north, stretching south to Murray Drive with a bands, buskers, food and more than 400 vendors from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Upper Canada Mall x York Pride: Upper Canada Mall is celebrating York Region’s 2SLGBTQ+ residents their loved ones and allies as part of their Pride Month programs. Upper Canada Mall and York Pride host family-friendly activities, interactive games and giveaways from noon to 8 p.m

A Ray of Sunshine Pop-up Market: The Mom Market York Region hosts an indoor pop-up market at Holland Marsh Wineries with shopping, wine tasting and a gorgeous view of the vineyards from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 18270 Keele St., Newmarket. Free wine tasting for the first 50 guests, shopping with more than 30 local small businesses, raffles prizes, cash bar (wine only), live music and more. 

Clanceypalooza 2023 Driveway Gig: The Kingfishers host their annual driveway gig at 881 Clancey Cres., Newmarket weather permitting from 2 to 6 p.m.They may have some select guests to come up and perform.

Optimist Club of Newmarket 10th Annual Poker Run for Kids With Cancer, June 10: Motorcycle riders are invited to join the ride in support of Southlake Regional Health Centre's pediatric oncology centre June 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event day begins with some light refreshments for riders, and includes two or three stops with food, and music and prizes at the end of the run. The run is open to all makes and models of motorcycles. Cost is $25 per rider and $15 per passenger. More details.

CFUW Home and Garden Tour, Sunday, June 11: Canadian Federation of University Women Aurora/Newmarket hosts its Come Be Inspired 2023 Home & Garden Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This signature fundraising event features six homes and two gardens in Holland Landing, Aurora, Newmarket and Oak Ridges. Proceeds benefit scholarships for young women in the community. Tickets are $40

Rotary Club of Newmarket Golf Tournament, Friday, June 16: Join the Rotary Club for 18 holes of golf at Angus Glen's championship North Course for $195 per player. Lunch and registration at 12:30 p.m., shotgun start at 2 p.m., with on course contests, GPS power cart, $25 pro shop gift card. Polo for Heart, Toronto Polo Club in Richmond Hill, Saturday, June 24: Polo For Heart marks its 43rd year supporting advanced cardiac care at Southlake Regional Health Centre with events for the whole family. The Rosé Polo Classic presented by Bread & Butter wines features a traditional day at polo, you can buy a table or individual pavilion brunch ticket or a Mallet Grille barbecue ticket to see international polo games - get up close to these majestic and powerful polo ponies, horse and hounds, Western riding demo and opportunity meet these beautiful majestic horses, silent auction, boutiques, live music and entertainment, high tea with strawberries and cream, and lemonade cocktails.
