The ghosts of Newmarket’s downtown Main Street are coming out of hiding once again as the town brings back its haunted tours next month.

The Town of Newmarket and Georgina Paranormal Society are inviting you to partake in a tour of downtown Main Street as part of the Ghost of the Old Town Hall event. Participants will learn about paranormal activity at the Old Town Hall and experience a live paranormal investigation.

“Ready to unleash the stories of the past?” the town said on its social media, adding that guests will “learn about many suspicious events and anecdotes that have haunted the area since the 1880s.”

The event has run since 2016, with the Georgina Paranormal Society regularly highlighting the paranormal activity of the Old Town Hall

The tours are for adults only, costing $20 per person. Due to limited space, they are only open to Newmarket residents. You are advised to wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather, with the paranormal tour and investigation taking approximately 90 minutes. No recordings are allowed, but there will be photo opportunities.

The tours will run Oct. 5, 12, and 19, with slots going from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and 7:30 to 9 p.m. Any participants are asked to arrive at the Old Town Hall 10 minutes early to check-in.

Registration for the event is open on the municipal website. You can find more information at newmarket.ca/ghosttours
