The York Regional Police Association hosted its third annual Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Ontario and the Law Enforcement Torch Run last night.
Billed as a Plunge under the Stars featuring a Hawaiian beach luau theme, the plunge wear included the lobster bibs, pineapple hats, bikinis, tiki masks, and, of course, plenty of grass skirts, colourful leis and loud Hawaiian shirts.
Since 2014, the Polar Bear Plunge has raised more than $90,000 for Special Olympics Ontario athletes. Organizers are hope to break the $100,000 fundraising mark with this year’s plunge — we'll update you when the funds are tallied.
