Put those ugly Christmas sweaters to work for a good cause.

The second annual J & B's Ugly Christmas Sweater Party will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 at Market Brewing Co. to raise funds for Newmarket's Inn from Cold.

Last year's event raised $10,000 for the seasonal shelter and resource hub for the homeless and at risk of being homeless, just as temperatures began to dip, co-organizer Brian Morris said.

"This year, we hope to do it again with your help," he said.

Morris — the "B" — and friend Jordan Bickley — the "J" — decided to organize the event to support and create awareness for a charity after getting a large turnout to a Christmas party they had held for friends.

The event, from 7 to 11 p.m., features "a great young local band", The Focklers, door prizes, a silent auction, and, of course, a prize for the ugliest sweater, Morris added.

Tickets, $25, are limited for this 19+ years age event, which is sponsored by Morris' firm, Lighthouse Legal Services.
