The GUS North Bay U11 AA Trappers went undefeated in their quest for gold in the 2021 Sudbury Regional Silver Stick over the weekend.

The final game saw the team face off against their fellow Northern Ontario rivals the Timmins North Stars.

Timmins took the lead early in the first 1-0. Trappers defenseman Mason McIsaac quickly answered the goal on a power play with a shot from the point to tie it up at 1-1.

The game would go back and forth for the remainder of the final. The game winner was all thanks to a great pass from Carter Lowe to Grady Roynon who scored in the second period.

Trappers would seal the deal later in the third making the score 5-3, and a hat trick for Oren French.

"The Trappers team was just that this weekend. A team. From the goalies, to the defense, the wingers and the centermen," said head coach Tim Hall.

"They all did their job and came out on top thanks to a great coaching staff behind them. They worked for this win, and man did they deserve it."
