You're invited to Geoffrey the Giraffe's birthday party, with treats, balloons and hats, and a car seat clinic this weekend at Toys "R" Us at Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket.

All 83 locations across the country will be marking the mascot's birthday Saturday. In Newmarket, the party will be co-hosted by Zuru on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. Guests can expect giveaways, cookies and a Peppa Pig or PJ Mask party hat DIY activity and Bunch O Balloons Party Pump in action.

On Sunday, Sept. 8 from 1 to 4 p.m., new parents and families are invited to learn how to properly install a car seat or booster seat in their vehicles. Trained technicians will demonstrate their skills at the free car seat clinic.

More than 500 weekend events are planned during September following this weekend's celebration, as well as a contest with prizes valued at more than $100,000. The prizes include one Dodge 2019 Grand Caravan SXT, three family vacations, three themed birthday parties and 45 shopping sprees.

In-store festivities held every Saturday and Sunday in September will be co-hosted by leading toy and baby manufacturers like Mattel, Hasbro, Lego, MGA , Evenflo, Graco and many others, who have joined forces with Toys"R"Us to package events like the LOL Unboxing Day & Dance Party, Beyblade tournaments and a Barbie accessory design event, according to a Toys "R" Us news release.

Exclusive to "R" Club members, Toys"R"Us Canada will offer 45 shopping sprees, or toy dashes, which originated through the company's longstanding partnership with Starlight Children's Foundation.

"Starlight is incredibly proud to be a partner with Toys"R"Us for the past 22 years," said Brian Bringolf, executive director of Starlight Children's Foundation Canada. "Geoffrey has helped to create countless memories for children across Canada over the years. Many of our programs for seriously ill children and their families, such as the unique dash shopping spree, would not be what they are today were it not for our partnership with Toys"R"Us Canada and Geoffrey. Our entire organization and the thousands of children and families we work with join me in wishing him oh so many more celebrations."
