Tickets for the Spring 2019 Third Age Learning York Region Speaker Series go on sale at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 18.

In addition, member registration for the 5th Anniversary Special Event with speaker Dr. Brian Goldman also go on sale at 9 a.m. Feb. 18.

Below is the lineup for our Spring 2019 Speaker Event series, which will be held at the Aurora Cultural Centre, Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon:

  • April 1, Kelly Matthews - Road to Marylake
  • April 8, Dr. Meb Rashid - Maintaining the Best of Both Worlds: Optimizing the Health of Newly Arrived Refugees
  • April 15, Bob Rae - Truth and Reconciliation - what does it really mean for Canada?
  • April 29, Pearce Carefoote - Forbidden Fruit: Banned, Censored and Challenged books from Dante to Harry Potter
  • May 6, Alexander Gates - 120 Years of Fear and Fascination with the Automobile
  • May 13, Prof. Jamie Cameron - Full Disclosure: Beverly McLachlin, former Chief Justice of Canada

Our 5th Anniversary Special Event, also open to the public, will be held April 23 at 2 p.m. at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts.

How to register for the Spring 2019 Event Speaker series

Tickets will be available for purchase on the TALYR website.

The 2019 Spring Speaker Event Series is six events for $50. If you share an email address with another person and both of you want to purchase a double speaker event series, we have made it possible for you to do that at a cost of $100.

Seating is limited to a maximum of 170 attendees and we sell out quickly, so please purchase the speaker series as soon as you can, so you don't miss out on this opportunity. First come, first served.

The 5th Anniversary Special Event is free to TALYR members, and tickets are available to non-members for a nominal fee.

We will be presenting Dr. Brian Goldman, successful author and host of CBC`s White Coat Black Art, speaking about The Power of Kindness in Health Care.
