During the annual Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake, our communities hit the ground running, raising close to $400,000 for leading-edge care, close to home.

“My first in-person Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake was awesome! It was so inspiring to see a sea of smiling faces who all came together with the shared purpose to support our hospital,” said Jennifer Ritter, Southlake Foundation’s resident and CEO. “I am so grateful to everyone who crossed over the finish line -  the hundreds did - knowing they were having an extra impact. Not only were many attempting a personal best but they were also pledging to ensure Southlake can continue to deliver the very best care for our communities.”

After two years of running the event virtually, hundreds of people were so excited to lace up their running shoes and participate in person to run or walk 5 km along Davis Drive, past our hospital on April 24. Participants who wished to join virtually could choose their distance and way to move to fundraise for Southlake throughout the month of April. Fundraising for both experiences ended on May 13.

The event also marked another important milestone: in 2022, we are celebrating our 10-year partnership with Nature’s Emporium. Through a decade of generous sponsorship, the event has raised over $2.6 million to date.

“We’re proud to be part of the Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake, inspiring history and meaningful community impact through our 10-year principal sponsorship,” saod Joe D’Addario, CEO of Nature’s Emporium. “Thank you to all who put on their running shoes to raise these significant funds for Southlake. Our communities rely on your support, especially after the many challenges faced throughout the pandemic. This fundraising milestone is a testament to the resiliency of our community and our collective efforts to ensure our communities can receive leading-edge care close to home.”

The main goal of the Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake is to raise funds to support urgent priorities at Southlake, equipment and technology vital to patient care. Government funding doesn’t cover all our healthcare needs. Through the Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake, our communities raise much-needed funds for Southlake, ensuring our medical teams have the tools and technology needed to deliver leading-edge care, close to home.

Southlake would especially like to acknowledge the outstanding, hardworking teams who won the top fundraiser challenges in their division. Congratulations, and thank you for really making a difference in supporting your communities:

-     Team Aurora, mayor's challenge

-     Optimist Club of Aurora, community friends & family challenge

-     "Baby, I Was Born To Run!!!," hospital department team challenge

-     Orangetheory Fitness Newmarket-Aurora, corporate & business team challenge

Next year’s Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake will take place on Sunday, April 30, 2023.
