Three months after Newmarket residents were first invited to stroll the grounds and heritage home on the storied Mulock Estate property at the corner of Yonge and Davis, the town welcomes you to take part in a workshop to brainstorm ideas for the future park.

The 11.6-acre property is currently closed to the public, but residents are encouraged to attend a facilitated workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford St., in Newmarket.

The event kicks off with an open house at 6:30 p.m., followed by the community workshop at 7 p.m.

Redevelopment plans are moving full steam ahead for the property purchased by the town from the Mulock family for $24 million in 2018.

Toronto’s award-winning PLANT Architect Inc. will lead the park development project, a process expected to last until late 2020 and will include consultation with key stakeholders, including the community, town staff and council members, and subject-matter experts.

It’s hoped the new municipal park will be up and running by 2022.
