Newmarket's Santa Claus Parade Nov. 17 kicks off an array of festive and winter events in town. Bundle up and enjoy winter!

Santa Claus Parade - Nov. 17 
Welcome Santa Claus to Newmarket at the annual parade beginning at 11 a.m. Bundle up and bring your family and friends to see the festive holiday floats, with the grand finale, special guest jolly Old St. Nick. The parade will start at the corner of Lorne Avenue and Eagle Street; proceed east on Eagle and north on Main Street, ending at Ontario Street. Don’t forget your letters to Santa, which will be collected along the parade route.

Christmas gift shop sale fundraiser - Nov. 17 
Find unique gifts, antiques, glassware, Christmas decorations, home décor and more on sale at the Elman W. Campbell Museum at 134 Main St from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Cash only please. Presented by the Friends of the Museum, the sale proceeds benefit the museum. 

Gallery of Festive Trees - Nov. 17 to Dec. 29 
The Elman W. Campbell Museum presents a Gallery of Festive Trees to celebrate the holiday season. Whether your style is Victorian, Edwardian, or Retro, there's something to inspire everyone. Visist from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. 

Daring Pairings: Scotch and Chocolate - Nov. 22 
Calling all chocoholics and scotch lovers a unique tasting experience. You will get the chance to sample four distinct scotch whiskeys with four artisanal chocolates in a cocktail style event lead by experts. Learn tips on pairing scotch and chocolate. Register here to attend the event at the Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford St. from 7 to 9 p.m. 

Winter Wonderland - Nov. 30 to January 2019 
Experience Newmarket’s Winter Wonderland, a beautiful light display throughout our Riverwalk Commons at 200 Doug Duncan Dr. You are invited to enjoy free outdoor skating or just relax at the Newmarket Ice Lounge sponsored by Jay Miller Real Estate Team. Free train rides, sponsored by Tim Hortons, are also provided to all guests on Friday and Saturday evenings, weather permitting.
 
Also, Fridays in December are Frozen Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m. Enjoy the free outdoor skating, Ice Lounge, train rides, a live DJ, a fun “selfie” backdrop and free warm beverages and treats. This year, each Frozen Friday will have its own surprise theme and fun, interactive entertainment both on and off the ice.
