Sales open for historic downtown King George School lofts, townhouses

The redevelopment project that has seen Newmarket’s most historic public school site transformed into luxury condominium lofts and townhouses is on the market tomorrow

The housing redevelopment project that has seen Newmarket’s most historic public school site transformed into luxury condominium lofts and townhouses is on the market as of tomorrow.

Century 21 Heritage Group Ltd. announced it will be facilitating the sales at its Newmarket Upper Canada Mall location, under an agreement for the development by the Rose Corporation.

The King George School Lofts & Town Homes project offers 11 contemporary lofts within the restored 1912 school building, surrounded by 14 two-storey freehold townhouses, in the heart of Newmarket’s downtown at 400 Park Avenue, between Victoria Street and Church Street.

Surrounded by 100-year-old trees on a 1.3-acre property, the loft homes range in size from 640 to 1,250 square feet, while the townhouses are approximately 2,200 square feet.

The Rose Corporation partnered with Audax Architecture & Interior Design for the development of the iconic site, committing to preservation, and respect for the historical community and surrounding neighbourhood.

“As a real estate company that believes in serving their community, it is very exciting that Century 21 Heritage Group will be facilitating sales for the King George property, (which is) Newmarket’s oldest public learning institute; transforming it into a contemporary and refined space without interrupting its century-old heritage,” Eryn Richardson, general manager of Century 21 Heritage Group, said.
