The Regional Municipality of York is requesting residents and businesses restrict water use during an Environment Canada heat warning.

With prolonged heat, water system challenges can be experienced. During this time, York Region is requesting residents and businesses to voluntarily restrict water use, including:

  • Non-essential indoor and outdoor water use
  • Outdoor water use for irrigation
  • Pool filling

Restricting water use will help ensure there is enough water in the system for an emergency, such as firefighting capabilities.
