Non-life threatening injuries in crash that closed Green Lane Saturday

Police appeal for witnesses to the two-vehicle collision on the border of Newmarket and East Gwillimbury

A two-vehicle collision on Green Lane in East Gwillimbury May 11 that saw York Regional Police close the roadway for several hours is still under investigation.

The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. Saturday on Green Lane between Yonge and Main streets, and one person was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, York police Const. Laura Nicolle said.

York police posted on its Twitter account Saturday morning that “serious injuries” had been reported.

“It didn’t wind up being as significant as we initially thought,” Nicolle said.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7141.

The investigation is ongoing through York police’s  #1 District in Newmarket.
