Newmarket woman killed in single-vehicle collision in East Gwillimbury

York Regional Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen the red Kia Soul that was missing a tire on Bathurst early this morning

A 67-year-old Newmarket woman has died following a serious single-vehicle collision early this morning in East Gwillimbury.

On Friday, June 11 at about 6:30 a.m., York Regional Police responded to the collision near the intersection of Bathurst Street and Highway 11, where a red Kia Soul had rolled off the road.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police.

Investigators believe the driver had travelled north on Bathurst from Vaughan to Newmarket in the vehicle that was missing a tire and had been driven on a rim.
