Update, 8:15 p.m.:

After patrolling the affected area, NT Power said crews found "no obvious signs for the momentary interruptions." However, they said a circuit supply issue at one of the stations could be the cause.

"As a pre-caution switching was completed to move these customers to a different station and circuit," they said.

If anyone continues to experience power flickering, you are asked to contact 905-895-2309 so that crews can be dispatched to investigate.

Several Newmarket residents have been experiencing brief power interruptions throughout the day on Jan. 15, NT Power said on Twitter.

The electric company said they had received reports from customers in the London Road area.

They said crews are investigating the cause but there is no outage in the area.

"Lines crews are currently out investigating and patrolling the lines in attempts to determine the root cause of the minor interruptions," NT Power said.

In response to a tweet from NT Power, one resident said their power "blinked off and back on" at 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and again at 4:30 p.m.

Another resident took to a Newmarket community Facebook group earlier in the afternoon to share their concerns about the power flickering. Many others responded saying their power had also flickered three or four times throughout the day.

While NT Power said the issue is affecting the London Road area, many of the residents on Facebook said they lived in the Woodland Hills neighbourhood, behind the mall and behind the Walmart plaza.
