Newmarket offers day camp for kids impacted by Monday's strike

Children aged four to 12 can enjoy games and activities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

With the announcement of the York Region District School Board strike day set for the coming Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, the Town of Newmarket is happy to provide care for families impacted.

Elementary-aged children (aged four to 12) can join the one-day Kids Place Camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to enjoy games, crafts, songs, team challenges and much more. Register online at play.newmarket.ca. Spaces are limited.

For parents staying home with their children, the following activities are available at Magna Centre recreation complex (800 Mulock Dr., Newmarket)

  • Open swim from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Basketball drop-in (all-ages) from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. in the gym
