Newmarket closing part of McCaffrey Road for construction

Road undergoing reconstruction this summer, closure to last one day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8

Newmarket is closing a portion of McCaffrey Road to perform road resurfacing.

The town announced that the road between Eagle Street and Rannie Road would be closed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. tomorrow, June 8. The road will be inaccessible and emergency crews will be directing traffic.

The has setup two detour routes. One will go through Eagle Street West to Crossland Gate, left on Alex Doner Drive, left on Brimson Drive down to McCaffrey.

The second route is from McCaffrey Road with a right on Rannie Road, left on Clearmeadow Boulevard down to Yonge Street.

The detours will last for one day to get traffic around an open excavation.

The town announced road reconstruction in the area earlier this year. The $2-million project also includes parts of Eagle Street and side roads, will replace asphalt, and repair damaged curbs and sidewalks throughout the project area.
