Neighbourhood Network hosts spring tree planting

You can celebrate spring by joining Neighbourhood Network’s annual tree planting event in Newmarket Saturday, April 27.

The rain or shine event take place on Kinrara Court, off Shadrach Drive, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Since the event’s inception, volunteers have planted more than 16,000 trees and shrubs in our community, according to Neighbourhood Network manager Erin Cerenzia in a news release.

Dress for the weather and wear closed-toe boots or shoes, a warm coat and gardening gloves. Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle.

Plantings will also be held at the Aurora Wildlife Park, Rogers Reservoir, Georgina’s Walmart Stormwater Pond, and Schomberg Community Farm.

Neighbourhood Network is not-for-profit division of Magna International Inc. that facilitates volunteerism in Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina and King Township.
