Newmarket’s Bagel World co-owners Michael and Sarit Bloshtein and Leeann Straeche, and their staff, are cheering on the Raptors in the NBA Finals by making special bagels in honour of the Toronto team.
“We’re making the purple and red bagels every game day and on weekends until they win the championship,” said Sarit Bloshtein. “And the Raptors will win it!”
Local fans are back to the great outdoors tonight, June 7, as the Raptors take on the Warriors in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
Cheer on the Raptors at Jurassic Commons at Riverwalk Commons, 200 Doug Duncan Dr.
New tonight is a licensed beer tent for fans, hosted by Market Brewing. A wristband policy will be in effect for those 19 and up.
Other notes of interest:
- Event hours: From 7 p.m. with game time at 9 p.m.
- Event tear down post-game is scheduled for 1 a.m.
- Ground Burger Bar Parking lot closure: The parking lot behind Ground Burger Bar will be closed from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. on Friday, June 7 for the screening of the Raptors Game 4 at Newmarket Riverwalk Commons. Only authorized vehicles will be permitted to park in this area during this time. The parking lot will be monitored by a Town staff person.
- Timothy Street Road Closure: The Timothy Street section from Cedar Street to Doug Duncan Drive will be closed from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, June 7. Vehicles will not be permitted in this area during this time to ensure safe pedestrian traffic in the area as we anticipate large crowds.
Guests are welcome to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Newmarket Food Pantry. Donation bins will be located at the Town of Newmarket booth at each screening.
Food and snacks will be available for purchase by Wickedly Sinful Poutine, Mister Softee Ice Cream and North Newmarket Lions Club.
Official Raptors attire will also be available for purchase by All Star Sports.
