A man has died after sustaining injuries while skiing at Blue Mountain yesterday.

Collingwood OPP confirmed officers were called to Blue Mountain around noon on Saturday, Feb. 16, for an incident "involving a male who had suffered injuries while skiing."

OPP Const. Martin Hachey said the man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are not releasing any more details at this time.

Jackie Paduano, a communications co-ordinator at Blue Mountain, confirmed police were investigating an incident that occurred on Saturday and resulted in a death. She directed any further questions to police.

"Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of this individual at this difficult time," said Paduano.

This is the second death at the resort this year. On Jan. 4, a 24-year-old man attempted to climb the outside wall of a building in Blue Mountain Village. He lost his footing and fell to the ground. He died of his injuries.
