Local Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign raises $39K for Southlake

A national record was broken with more than $10.5 million raised for local charities

Newmarket, Aurora and East Gwillimbury residents have a reason to smile after helping to raise $39,731 for Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation by purchasing Smile Cookies at their local Tim Hortons outlet.

The local restaurant owners have donated 100 per cent of the proceeds of the annual campaign, including $2,741 raised exclusively at the Tim Hortons outlet located in the Newmarket hospital, in support of its most urgent priorities.

Tim Hortons restaurant owners and millions of Canadians together broke a Smile Cookie record by raising $10.56 million for local charities across the country this year.

For one week, from Sept. 14 to 20, restaurant owners donated the full $1 from every Smile Cookie purchased to support charities in their community.
