Close contact between members of social circles permitted in new public health guidelines

Ontario will now allow for social circles of up to 10 people effective immediately. 

Health minister Christine Elliott says the move - which differs from the province's social gathering guidelines - will enable members of a social circle to have close contact with each other.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says another announcement regarding the reopening the province's economy will be provided Monday.

Premier Doug Ford is slated to make a COVID-19 announcement at Queen's Park today at 1:00 p.m. 

The announcement comes as parts of the province enter Stage 2 of the reopening framework set out by the Ontario government.

Ford will be joined by Health Minister Christine Elliott and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams to make the announcement.
