Learn 'building blocks' of nature photography at Scanlon Creek workshop

Local photographer Jim Craigmyle shares some of his secrets Sunday

Local photographer Jim Craigmyle is well known for his rich, vibrant — and haunting — images of nature and human beings interacting in a natural setting.

This Sunday, Sept. 15, he shares some of his secrets in a Photography 101 workshop at Scanlon Creek Conservation Area in Bradford West Gwillimbury, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Hosted by the Lake Simcoe Conservation Foundation, the cost of the workshop is $65 per person, with a portion of the proceeds going to the foundation.

Participants are asked to meet at the Nature Centre at Scanlon (accessed off Line 9 Bradford West Gwillimbury), and bring a camera, preferably a DSLR. You’ll learn the basics, including ISO, aperture and shutter speed — all building blocks of great photography.
