CANADIAN FEDERATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN (CFUW)

CFUW Aurora/Newmarket is a women's organization engaged in empowering women’s lives through friendship, education, outreach and advocacy. All women in York Region are welcome to the Sept. 24 monthly meeting featuring speaker Debbie Dew and artists from Richmond Hill’s L’Arche Daybreak.
The mission of L’Arche is to help persons with developmental disabilities flourish and develop their gifts through life in a supportive community built on relationships of mutuality. One of the gifts to flourish has been their creativity and artistic expression.
Dew, a potter with years of experience working with people, has coordinated the Daybreak Studio almost since its inception and is passionate about awakening and supporting the creativity and unique gifts of each artist.
She will talk about what that process is like, together with one of the individuals who has inspired and surprised her.
The meeting is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Aurora, 105 Industrial Parkway North in Aurora.
