Today is National Cupcake Day, the most delicious day of the year, when participating animal welfare societies across Canada invite you to indulge in cupcakes to support animals in need. It’s a cause so good the calories don’t count!

Presented by the Ontario SPCA, National Cupcake Day is a collaborative fundraising effort supporting animal welfare societies across Canada. Proceeds from National Cupcake Day help the Ontario SPCA support our furry friends, big and small, who have been abused, abandoned, neglected or are no longer wanted.  The campaign has raised $3.15 million to date by animal lovers across Canada.

Do something sweet today for an animal by visiting nationalcupcakeday.ca to find a list of animal welfare societies participating in National Cupcake Day. Many locations have cupcakes available today by donation, or you can make a gift online to change an animal’s life.

It’s not too late to host a Cupcake Day Party of your own. Cupcake Day parties can be held anywhere and on any date this month. Guests donate to the participating animal welfare charity of the host’s choice and enjoy cupcakes, raising critically needed funds for animals in need.

“National Cupcake Day is fun, delicious and, best of all, it changes the lives of animals who deserve a second chance,” says Daryl Vaillancourt, Chief, Humane Programs & Community Outreach, Ontario SPCA.

“The funds you raise will have a significant impact on the animals in your community by ensuring life-saving work is possible at your local animal welfare society.”
