Here's how to get your Halloween on in Newmarket

There's a big Halloween costume party at the Magna Centre, a spooky ghost tour and a pumpkin parade at Riverwalk Commons

Here are four ways to have some Halloween fun in Newmarket.

1. Newmarket Hallowe'en Party presented by Longo's Saturday, Oct. 26

Come dressed in your favourite costume for the day and enjoy crafts, activities, stage shows, tasty treats, meet your favourite characters and more from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Magna Centre at 800 Mulock Dr. Tickets, $5, can be purchased online here or at the Magna Centre customer service kiosk. Parents, guardians and children under one year of age get in free.

2.Hallowe'en Fun at the Museum Saturday, Oct. 26

Have a howling good time with fun activities including loot bags, Hallowe'en crafts, pumpkin hunts, scavenger hunts with prizes, candy guess and tabletop activities from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at  Elman W. Campbell Museum, 134 Main St. South. Light refreshments will be served. Suitable for ages four to 10 with adult supervision. Costumes are encouraged. $3 admission per child (cash at the door). 3. Ghost of Old Town Hall Wednesdays in October
Take a guided walking tour of Historic Downtown Main Street and learn about the many suspicious events and paranormal occurrences that have haunted the area since the 1880s Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and 7:30 to 9 p.m. After the walking tour, you visit the Old Town Hall to learn more about paranormal activity and experience a live paranormal investigation hosted by the Georgina Paranormal Society. Limited tickets available. 4. Pumpkin Parade at Riverwalk Commons Friday, Nov. 1
Show off your carved Halloween pumpkin and have the chance to win some awesome prizes from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participants and attendees are invited to take a walk through Riverwalk Commons and vote for the carved creations that best suit the following categories: 

  • Jack of all Lanterns (Newmarket's Favourite) 
  • Scariest Pumpkin 
  • Cutest Pumpkin 
  • Most Creative Pumpkin 

To enter, pumpkins must be registered with a name and email address when dropped off from 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Winners will be contacted after the event. Battery operated lights will be provided for the pumpkins.
