Have you ever had a special pet that meant the world to you? Walk in their honour Sept. 22 at the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre’s  Friends for Life! Walk to raise critical funds for animals in need.

The Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre is hosting its walk at 16586 Woodbine Ave. in Stouffville. Funds raised support programs and services provided by Ontario SPCA and Humane Society animal centres and participating humane societies across Ontario.

With a complimentary breakfast and prizes to be won, it’s sure to be a great event for the whole family. Plus, check out the SPCA Mobile Animal Wellness Services spay/neuter unit, which will be on site for tours. The 38-foot trailer features two surgical tables where 20-30 spay/neuter procedures can be performed per day during mobile clinics.

You don’t need a dog to participate in the event — anyone who enjoys getting outside and helping their community is urged to show their support. Those who can’t make it to a walk event location can register as a virtual walker to lace up and walk when and where it’s convenient for them.

“The Friends for Life! Walk makes second chances possible for abused, neglected and homeless animals,” says Elizabeth Westover, Manager, Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre. “Whether you are walking for your furry best friend, a beloved past pet, or on behalf of animals across Ontario, know that by participating in the walk you are taking the first step to giving animals a second chance at an amazing life.”

Visit friendsforlifewalk.ca to register to walk for the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre and join us in changing animals’ lives, one step at a time.
